8. Go Fishing at the Imperial Beach Pier. Any California fishing guide would tell you that the Imperial Beach Pier is a must-visit. Almost 1,500 feet long, the pier is the ideal place to go fishing in SoCal. Both yellowtail and white seabass are reachable at the end of the pier, but the best fishing spot is right in the middle.

Strange Catches On Fishing Pier. Two fish which were far from home waters were caught off the Imperial Beach Pier this week according to Ralph " Big John" Johnson, operator of the bait shop there. Ordie Weller, Imperial Beach, caught a 5 1/2 pound ling cod in the shallow waters beneath the pier.

Sep 2021. This is the most southern pier in the state of California just a few miles north of the Mexican border. It extends out almost 1500 ft on the long sandy beach. It's a nice walk across the wooden planks to the end where the Tin Fish is located selling food and drink and has tables to sit having it. The Pier is in the shape of an arrow.

The Pier in Imperial Beach, a few blocks south of Evergreen Avenue is a popular spot for beach-goers, with grassy parks, recreational facilities, shopping and eateries in the area. The Imperial Beach Pier was first constructed in the 1960s. It was later destroyed by a storm and rebuilt in the 1980s. In 2006, the Port of San Diego performed a major upgrade to the pier. In 2014, the Port completed a project that replaced nearly 1,500 of the pier's planks.

Imperial Beach Pier is the southernmost pier in the San Diego area and the entire state of California. It is a wooden-planked pier that extends 1491 feet out towards the horizon. At the end of the pier it widens and the walkway wraps around a seafood restaurant called The Tin Fish which has outdoor seating with umbrellas and is a pleasant place to hangout.
